FAISALABAD: A woman suffered severe injuries after she was attacked with acid in the Saddar police jurisdiction on Tuesday.

A police official told APP that Ramzana, 35, the owner of a small 'dhaba' or food outlet, refused the marriage proposal of Malik Nadeem several times.

After her last refusal, he threw acid on the victim when she was working in her shop at 225-RB in Ahmad Nagar.

The victim suffered severe burn injuries and was shifted to the district headquarters hospital by Rescue 1122. The assailant managed to escape from the scene.

City Police Officer (CCPO) Ashfaq Ahmad Khan took serious notice of the incident and directed the Saddar SHO to register a case and arrest the culprit at the earliest.

SYEDA SAIMA SHABBIR | 5 years ago | Reply Case should also be registered against the shopkeeper who sold acid to the culprit. Sale and purchase of acid in Pakistan should be banned completely in order to end this crime of acid throwing.
