Bollywood film-maker Rohit Shetty and superstar Salman Khan are joining hands for an upcoming cop film, reported Pinkvilla. Khan's avatar as a police officer in the Dabangg franchise was loved by many so it comes an no surprise that this upcoming film is much-anticipated.
After wrapping up Ali Abbas Zafar’s Bharat and the third installment of Dabangg, Bollywood's 'Bhai' will begin preparations for Shetty’s action-packed drama.
According to a source, “Rohit and Sajid have met a couple of times to discuss the possibilities of collaborating on a film with Salman in the lead and content."
The insider continued, "Among the many ideas they have discussed, one is a spin-off to the character of Devi Lal Singh, aka DEVIL, from Kick, Sajid’s successful directorial debut. The 2014 film had an open ending with Salman’s character donning the khaki uniform. If the idea materialises as planned, it could be the take-off for Rohit’s film.”
Shetty will finish off Sooryavanshi with Akshay Kumar before commencing his film with Khan in June. It is said to wrap up by August in one start-to-finish schedule.
The yet to be titled project is slated to release in the second half of 2020.
