Guard allegedly rapes woman at Allied Hospital

Police nab culprit’s brother, hunt on to trace suspects

A security guard allegedly sexually assaulted a woman at Allied Hospital, Express News reported on Wednesday.

Police said S*, a resident of Jhumra, lodged a complaint, stating that she went to Allied Hospital to see a relative. The woman added that when she reached the health facility, security guard of a private company, named Imtiaz, and his accomplices took her to a quarter.

S* said culprit Imtiaz locked the room from inside and allegedly raped her. She stated that during the ordeal, the accused’s accomplices stood outside the quarter and kept watch.

The victim maintained after committing the offence, the suspects fled the scene and left her in an injured condition.

The woman highlighted that she immediately called the police on its helpline number. Later, Nishatabad Police Station ASI Mubashir and his team reached the spot and took Imtiaz’s brother into custody.

Meanwhile, Nishatabad Police Sub Inspector Siddiq Cheema said that the place of the incident does not fall into their jurisdiction. He added the victim had been sent to Civil Lines police station for the registration of the case. He said the police were conducting raids to nab the accused.

Earlier, on January 21, a 17-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by six men in Lahore.

According to police, the girl ran away from home in Sialkot to meet Zahid, one of the accused, with hopes of marrying him. The accused then took her to his friends in the Hadyara area of the provincial capital. The accused were reportedly intoxicated and raped her.
