ISLAMABAD: After private images of motorists snapped by safe city cameras went viral, the Islamabad Police conducted an inquiry and stated that the images were not from the federal capital. The statement was issued by the police on Tuesday after completing an internal inquiry. According to the sources, senior officials of the Islamabad Police ordered an inquiry after the issue of leaked photos went viral.  As per the inquiry, one motorist allegedly told the police that his photos had been taken in Lahore. Another motorist said that he was a resident of Lahore while a third motorist told that he was a doctor at the Victoria Hospital in Bahawalpur. However, he was visiting Lahore from December 7 to December 12, 2018. Sources disclosed that an inquiry report had been presented Operations DIG while the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) director general — who heads the safe city project in Islamabad — has also been informed about the issue.
