Committee formed to probe Balochistan bus-truck collision

Report to be submitted within seven days

QUETTA: Balochistan Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Langove formed on Tuesday an inquiry committee to probe the tragic incident in Bela, in which at least 27 people, including women and children, were burnt to death.

The committee has been directed to probe and identify the elements responsible for the deadly accident.

The committee, headed by commissioner Kalat Division, DIG police Khuzdar range, deputy commissioner Lasbela and SSP Lasbela will submit their report to the provincial government within seven days.

“The provincial government has constituted a JIT to probe the accident," Langove said, adding that,all those responsible would be held accountable.

The minister added that the provincial government had decided to take action against those involved in oil smuggling through passenger buses.

Meanwhile, Provincial Minister for Social Welfare Asad Baloch said that as per the will of the victims’ families, the bodies had been buried without DNA examination.

He added that the government had announced compensation of Rs10 million each for the deceased, and Rs5 million each for the injured.
