Four car lifters nabbed during raids

Culprits used to steal vehicles from different city areas

At least four vehicle lifters have been arrested by police in Faisalabad, Express News reported.

A Gulberg police official said SHO Imran Raza Shah and his team conducted different raids in the city. They nabbed four outlaws involved in stealing vehicles, while also recovering Rs0.15 million in cash and cellphones from their possession.

The official added that the accused were identified as Tariq, Arif, Qasim and Abdur Rehman. He revealed that the culprits were involved in stealing cars, motorcycles and other criminal activities in the area. He added that they managed to evade police on several occasions.

The SHO pointed out that the culprits were wanted by different police stations in a number of criminal cases. The police official mentioned that the suspects belonged to a notorious car lifting gang which had been operating in the city for a long time.

Earlier, a wanted criminal was killed in a police encounter in Mandi Bahauddin.

The police received information that wanted outlaw Hasnain Asghar was spotted near a canal in the Petrol Pump Mangat area. After receiving the tip, a police team, under the supervision of DSP Rana Shabbir Ahmed and SHOs from different police stations, rushed to the spot to nab the culprit. However, when police officials reached the area, the accused and his accomplices opened fire on them.

The police retaliated and a shootout ensued. During the encounter, Hasnain sustained bullet injuries and was killed on the spot, while his accomplices managed to escape under the cover of fire and taking advantage of darkness.
