QUETTA: Member National Assembly (MNA) Shahzain Bugti on Sunday said that his party, the Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP) would contest the upcoming local government elections.

It is pertinent to mention that the tenure of LG institutions in Balochistan is going to complete on January 27.

The decision came during a party meeting in Sibi where a dozen people led by prominent local tribal leader Haji Abdul Rehman Bugti joined the JWP.

The MNA said: “Today people of Balochistan are fully aware and know the power of vote”.

Bugti said the JWP is fully aware of public issues in the district and vowed to make earnest efforts in resolving them.

“Our party has been striving for due rights of Balochitan for decades, displaying our sincerity toward people of the province. The JWP will make earnest efforts at all forums to impart health, education and other basic facilities to people of Sibi,” he said.

He recalled that in last general elections people of Sibi put their trust in the JWP.

With this trust, he stressed the need for practical measures in providing quality service to people while in power. “The divisional headquarter hospital would be equipped with all facilities and medicines which is the only health facility in Sibi,” the JWP leader said.

Meanwhile, Bugti announced he will support students from Sibi willing to pursue higher education in Karachi, Islamabad or Lahore.

He also pledged medical assistance to patients suffering from cancer and other fatal diseases who are not able to bear financial expenses.

The central Labour Secretary of JWP Rauf Babar, Central Chief Coordinator Chaudery Naveed, provincial President Nadeem Kakar, provincial General Secretary Mir Shams Kurd and other party leaders were present on the occasion.
