Speaking to the media in Sahiwal, hours after taking notice of the incident and constituting a joint investigation team to investigate the incident, Buzdar said the victims’ children were now the state's responsibility with all their costs from henceforth to be borne by the government.
"Rest assured those responsible will be taken to task," he said, adding that the CTD officials involved in the incident have been taken into custody.
Buzdar said exemplary punishment would be handed out to the 'culprits'.
The JIT will present its report within 72 hours, he added.
