Maryam slams govt over failure to release Sharif's medical records
'We’re still in the dark as to what his actual condition is'
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Maryam Nawaz on Saturday hit out at the government for not releasing the official medical reports of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.
Sharif's daughter spoke out on Twitter, saying the medical boards formed by the federal government had examined him on January 16.
Yet, she said, the only information the Sharif family received was from media reports, which she deemed as "alarming".
"We’re still in the dark as to what his actual condition is. Access to official reports still awaited," she tweeted.
Nawaz’s medic suggests more tests
Earlier on January 13, Sharif had been advised by his personal doctor to get more tests conducted to ascertain the root cause of his chest pain but his preliminary tests have turned out to be satisfactory.
The ousted premier is incarcerated at the Lahore's Kot Lakhpat jail since December 24, 2018, after an accountability court convicted him in a corruption reference filed in line with the apex court’s July 28, 2017 verdict.
