No Lay-Offs: 4,000 PIA employees to retire by 2014

PIA has no plans to lay off employees.

LAHORE: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced that around 4,000 employees will retire from the airline after completing their service by the year 2014 and it has no plans to lay off employees. Rejecting a news report which quoted the PIA managing director as saying that employees would be laid off, a spokesperson for the airline in a press release said the managing director, while speaking in a meeting of the Public Accounts Committee, said that with the passage of time and by the year 2014 nearly 4,000 employees would be retiring from PIA service. Abbas | 12 years ago | Reply Ofcourse why would MD make such decision and get the treatment same as Ijaz Haroon. He does not have to pay out of his own pocket. It is the nation's money so who cares man. Keep wasting over excessive employees who are of hardly any use.
