LAHORE: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced that around 4,000 employees will retire from the airline after completing their service by the year 2014 and it has no plans to lay off employees. Rejecting a news report which quoted the PIA managing director as saying that employees would be laid off, a spokesperson for the airline in a press release said the managing director, while speaking in a meeting of the Public Accounts Committee, said that with the passage of time and by the year 2014 nearly 4,000 employees would be retiring from PIA service.
