According to the AGP’s annual report available with the Daily Express, Nandipur Power Plant and Thermal Power Station Muzaffargarh underwent poor repair and maintenance procedures which affected electricity production by 3.7 billion units, translating into a loss of Rs51.38 billion.
As per the audit report, Thermal Power Station Muzaffargarh was deliberately kept shut for over 3,270 hours, disrupting 3.56 billion units.

Due to the maintenance work, Nandipur Power Plant also remained closed for 15 days, affecting power generation of another 140 million units.
The audit officials recommended investigation into the disruption in electricity production in order to identify the ones responsible for the blunder.
On the other hand, the Power Division maintained that power plants’ operations were suspended as per schedule for maintenance purposes.
