Murder: Student strangled to death

HARIPUR:

Body of a 13-year-old seminary student was found at an isolated spot in Gehr Khan village near Haripur on Tuesday. Police said there were signs that the boy was molested before being strangled. Razi Khan, the victim’s father and an Afghan national, told the police that his son Khaliq was memorising Quran at a local seminary. He said Khaliq left for the seminary on Monday morning but did not come back in the evening. Khan said they searched for him everywhere and also approached the seminary’s authorities, who did not cooperate with them. According to the police, the victim’s body had marks around the neck and other parts, which implies that he was sexually harassed. Police said it appeared the molester strangled him using a girdle. The police have registered a case against unknown persons.
