ISLAMABAD:
A 50-year-old man was set ablaze by unidentified assailants in his  Multan home on Wednesday.

The incident took place in Qutab Pur area of the city.

According to rescue services, the victim was doused with petrol and then set on fire in the house.

The victim was rescued by fire fighters and shifted to hospital.

Doctors say the victim sustained burn wounds on almost his entire body with his condition said to be critical.

Police registered an FIR against unidentified attackers and started further investigation.

On December 30 last year, an elderly woman, ‘set ablaze’ by unidentified men, scummed to her injuries.

Reportedly, 70-year old Parveen was set on fire at her home in Sherakot.

As a result, she sustained severe burns and died during treatment at a hospital. The culprits managed to escape.

Police said the victim’s brother, Iqbal, alleged that Parveen’s niece and her husband are involved in the murder.
