Cricket: Nottinghamshire handed £600 fine

NOTTINGHAMSHIRE: Nottinghamshire have been handed a £600 fine by the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) after they fielded Australian David Hussey without having registered him to do so. Hussey, who captains the side in Twenty20 cricket, had obtained the necessary dispensation to play for Nottinghamshire as an overseas player and has now been correctly registered with the ECB. "The player himself is entirely blameless," said an ECB statement. Hussey has so far scored 182 runs, including two half-centuries, and has taken two wickets to help Nottinghamshire to the top of the North Group. His side are next in action when they take on Durham at Chester-le-Street today.
