Strong legal cover must for organ transplantation, says K-P health minister

Says 200 basic health units will be upgraded across K-P

PESHAWAR: Awareness, legislation and strong legal cover are necessary for the practice of human organ transplant, said Health Minister Dr Hisham Inamullah Khan.

He was addressing a one-day awareness seminar regarding human organ transplantation organised by the Khyber Medical University.

Dr Hisham said that awareness in society regarding the transplantation under the relative legal cover is essential while the government is facilitating the concerned institutes in this regard.

He said the private sector working according to the relevant laws would also be encouraged. He said 200 basic health units will be upgraded.
