Police nab four motorcycle thieves in Sargodha

11 cases had been registered against the suspects at different police stations

Police claimed to have arrested four motorcycle theieves during a raid in Bhalwal Tehsil on Wednesday.

Bhalwal DSP Malik Ghulam Abbas said that the force received a tip off that four motorcycle thieves, belonging to a notorious criminal gang, were in the area. He added that the police team immediately raided a hideout and nabbed four culprits identified as Saqlain, Zafar, Shahzad and Khalid.

During interrogation, the accused told the police that their gang used to steal motorcycles from different parts of the city. Meanwhile, police seized stolen motorcycles and a large amount of cash and other valuables from their possession.

The DSP said that the police were efforts to arrest two more members of the gang were under way. He maintained that 11 cases had been registered against the suspects in different police stations.

Police have lodged an FIR against them and started investigations.

Earlier, the Anti-Car Lifting Squad claimed to have apprehended a vehicle-lifting gang after arresting four of its active members. They also seized four stolen motorcycles and weapons from their possession in Faisalabad.

The Anti-Car Lifting Squad conducted raid at a hideout and succeeded in arresting four criminals of the gang. The accused were identified as Rana Nafees, a resident of Kokianwala, his accomplices Ahsan Ali Qureshi, a resident of Katchi Abadi Millat Town, Muhammad Shafiq Mughal, a resident of Chak No 213-RB Hari Singh Wala and Abdul Hafeez Khan, a resident of Babara Colony Kokianwala Faisalabad.

The police also confiscated four stolen motorcycles, two mobile phones, weapons and Rs185,000 in cash from their possession. The accused were wanted in a number of robbery cases by different police stations.
