Woman commits suicide after being tormented by in-laws for not having children

Police say 25-year old ends her life with poison after failing to give birth to child despite four years of marriage

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: A 25-year old married woman reportedly committed suicide due to 'family dispute' in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa's Dera Ismail Khan district on Sunday.

According to police sources, a young lady in the limits of Paharpur Police Station took her life with poison after she failed to give birth to a child despite four years of marriage.

Sources said the deceased woman was facing criticism by her father in-law for failing to give birth to a child. Police handed over the body to family after conducting postmortem.

Turned away from hospital: Woman forced to give birth in shop

She was taken to a hospital in critical condition after a few hours of consuming poison but unfortunately, she could not survive.

The incident occurred in Tehsil Paharpur, village Bagwani Shumali. Police authorities lodged an FIR of the incident.

Earlier in another similar incident a young woman ended her life by consuming poisonous pills in the area of Jaranwala police station in Punjab.

Depression: Woman commits suicide in Faisalabad 

A police spokesperson said that 32-year-old Shazia, wife of Saleem and a resident of Chak No 298-GB, had an argument with her in-laws over some domestic matter. As a result, she became depressed and consumed poisonous pills.

She was immediately rushed to Allied Hospital for treatment but she breathed her last.The police handed over the body to the relatives after completing necessary formalities.
