This was stated by ACE Regional Director Asim Raza while talking to media persons on Friday. He said during 2018, the department received a total 1,898 applications from all the four districts (Sargodha, Khushab, Bhakkar and Mianwali) of the division of which 657 were against revenue department, 369 against police, 201 against the local government and 89 applications against the education department.
The director said a total 613 general and 47 different departmental inquiries were held and in the result, 176 cases were registered during the year. The action was taken against 182 people over submitting fake applicants, he added.
Raza said during the operation against land mafia, the department retrieved 9,470 kanals agricultural, commercial state land including 65 shops worth Rs10 billion. He further said in conclusion of inquiries regarding fake transfers of properties, TMA map fee and damaging national treasury in development schemes, the ACE department had recovered Rs62.871 million of which Rs3.782 million were returned to the complainants.
Similarly, during 2018, the department had arrested 31 people including Auqaf Zonal Administrator Rana Ulfat Hussain and Bhera Municipal Committee Chairman Muhammad Saleem over taking the bribe and recovered Rs490,800 from them. The department had registered cases against the government officers and presented challans of over 100 cases in the court. The department had also arrested six proclaimed Offenders during the years 2018, he added.
