Five-day polio drive to start from 21st in Bahawalpur

Total of 606,507 children under age of five would be administered anti-polio drops

BAHAWALPUR: Total of 606,507 children under the age of five years would be administered anti-polio drops in Bahawalpur district during a five-day anti-polio drive from January 21 onwards.

Chairing a meeting, Bahawalpur Deputy Commissioner Shozab Saeed reviewed the arrangements for anti-polio campaign. District Health Authority Chief Executive Officer Dr Fayyaz Anwar, District Polio Coordinator Dr Muhammad Zakir were also present at the occasion.

Chief Executive Officer District Health Authority Bahawalpur Dr Fayyaz Anwar briefed that the five-day door-to-door campaign would continue till January 25. As many as 1,507 teams of District Health Authority including 1,199 mobile teams, 166 fixed teams and 123 transit teams will perform duties in the three-day campaign. Besides, 18 roaming teams will perform duties at main markets of the city.
