PESHAWAR: Peshawar High Court (PHC) has asked the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government that it needs more judges.

“After the merger of Fata with K-P, the PHC has asked the provincial government to increase its number of judges from 20 to 25,” said PHC Chief Justice Waqar Ahmad Seth.

He was talking to the media at Arbab Niaz Cricket Stadium after watching Peshawar District Cricket Association Inter-Club Cricket Championship final match between Swabi Fighters and Malik 11 Peshawar.

Justice Seth said that the supreme court has maintained the PHC verdict pertaining to Fata merger. While commenting on the remarks of the supreme court pertaining to judges at Peshawar High Court said that it is up to the discretion of the top court to make such
remarks but judges at PHC give their verdicts on the basis of merit.
