LAHORE: Senior Punjab Minister Abdul Aleem Khan said that a zero-tolerance policy will continue against encroachment. He expressed these remarks while presiding over a high level committee meeting on Wednesday.

The minister said that the original shape of cities will be restored and that the encroachment drive will continue across the province. Removing encroachments is in the larger interest of traders and citizens, he said.

He maintained that the present government is taking difficult decisions in the public’s interest. He added that honest and able officers are needed to implement the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf’s (PTI) agenda. He asked officials to ensure that no ‘katchi abadis’ are disturbed.

He highlighted that billions of rupees have already been recovered during the ongoing encroachment campaign in Punjab.
