
According to WASA Chairman Arif Abbasi, strict action in accordance with the law was being taken against the rules violators. He informed that the agency on the directive of the High Court launched crackdown and sealed total 67 service stations during last seven days.
He said total 105 service stations of the city were earlier issued notices and given two months period for installations of the recycling plants to save water.
WASA workers threaten to deprive citizens of water
The WASA chairman appreciated efforts of the staff being made to implement orders of the court.
He said the operation would continue till installation of the recycling plant at last service station and the officers concerned had been directed to take action against the violators without any discrimination.
The agency had fixed December 15 deadline for installing water recycling plants at the service stations. The Wasa teams conducted raids at I.J.P Road, Pirwadhai, Zia Colony, Dhoke Hassu, Dhoke Matkal, Bangash Colony, Murree Road, Committee Chowk, Dhoke Khaba, Millat Colony, Cha Sultan, Tipu Road, Motti Mehal, Asghar Mall, Chandni Chowk, Commercial Market, National Market, Saidpur and other areas and sealed the service stations of the violators.
