MUZAFFARGARH: National Database and Registration Authority has in collaboration with a non governmental organisation, Siddhara, launched a drive to issue computerised national identity cards in five flood hit union councils of Muzaffargarh.  Mobile vans of NADRA will provide the facility to people of union councils – Shiekh Umar, Dogra Kalassra, Sanawan, Manan and Kashifabad.  Residents of these areas have appreciated the move. Mohammad Ashraf, Arshad Sindhu, Amjad Khan Gormani, Mohammad Ejaz and Arshid Nadeem Gashkori said they had been requesting the authorities concerned for a long time to provide the facility so that people could get their ID cards. Siddhara’s project manager, Zeb Sehrish Durrani, said that the NGO was working in the flood hit areas on issues relating to child protection but their interaction with the locals made them realise that without ID cards they were being deprived many otherwise easily accessible things.
