Energy Conference: Experts propose strategy to tackle crisis

The participants emphasised the need for joint efforts by government and other sectors

KARACHI: Energy experts tried to devise a strategy to deal with the power shortfall in Pakistan, in two two-day online conference on energy crisis, in which energy experts from Brunei, Nigeria and Geneva, read their papers on Skype.  The participants emphasised the need for joint efforts by government, private sector, industrialists and business community. They said that energy crisis was affecting the economy, and it was time that alternate energy resources like wind energy, bio gas, bio fuel and solar energy be investigated.  Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry Senior Vice-President Talat Mahmood called upon the youth and students to create awareness about energy crisis and management through forums and workshops.
