Brawl: Five men arrested for attacking doctor

The suspects were arrested on the spot as permanent police security has been deputed in all allied hospitals.

Five men, arrested for getting into a fight with District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) Rawalpindi doctors, were sent to jail on a 14-day judicial remand on Saturday. Dr Muhammad of DHQ lodged an FIR against Muhammad Zaheer and others of Hazar Colony for attacking him. The police booked the five persons for hurling death threats at Dr Muhammad and dislocating his shoulder. According to police sources, two men, Shakeel and Sohail, were brought to the emergency department on Friday with bullet wounds. There, according to the relatives, the doctor told them that the patients were not critical condition and asked them to go to the surgery department, which resulted in a quarrel between the two parties. Ganjmandi Police SHO Inspector Shabbir Khan said that the arrested men were produced before the court of the area magistrate and were sent to Adiala Jail. Khan added that the suspects were arrested on the spot as permanent police security has been deputed in all allied hospitals of the city.
