Winter vacations for Sindh's educational institutions announced

The announcement was made through an official notification

Sindh government on Wednesday announced the schedule of vacations for educational institutions in the province.

"It is hereby notified that the winter vacation for all public and private educational institutions in Sindh shall be observed from December 22, 2018 to December 31, 2018," read an official notification addressed by the provincial education secretary.



All educational institutions, the notification added, shall reopen on January 1, 2019.



Last month, Sindh Chief Minister's Adviser Barrister Murtaza Wahab assured parents, students and management of private schools that there were no plans to initiate any action to remove schools from residential areas.

Panic gripped parents and students as well as the owners of private schools after media reports that Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) had decided to take action against private schools operating residential localities of Karachi.

These reports also suggested that SBCA had served notices to thousands of private schools and tuition centres to either relocate themselves within a month or face consequences.
