COPENHAGEN:

Top-seed Caroline Wozniacki ousted her German opponent Mona Barthel 6-1, 6-2 to reach the final of the Sony Ericsson Open in Denmark.

The world number one will now face fourth-seed Lucie Safarova of the Czech Republic today.

The 20-year-old Dane  took only an hour and two minutes as she outclassed the 142nd-ranked Barthel in straight sets at the indoor hard court at Farum Arena.

With the win, Wozniacki will be aiming to win her fifth WTA title of the year.

In the other semi-final, Safarova rallied from a set down to beat Petra Martic of Croatia 1-6, 6-0, 6-2 to position herself to face Wozniacki in a much awaited final. Safarova, who has lost the first set in each of her matches in Copenhagen, was 4-0 down in the second before hitting a string of winners to take 12 of the final 14 games.
