The popular and much-loved actor Sana Javed decodes her style for us. From the pieces she gravitates to the most, to her least favourite fashion trends, Sana shares it all

Understanding your body is the key to looking good and a trait found amongst all impeccably dressed fashionistas. While people shy away from talking about their bodies, these brave souls explain how they work their anatomies to their advantage

How would you describe your body type?

I was very sporty throughout my childhood so I think I have a very athletic body; tall and broad but not too masculine.

Has your body type changed over the last five years?

Of course! My body type has changed for sure but not significantly. It’s a lot more toned now as I make sure to keep up my workout regimen. I have always maintained a healthy living as I firmly believe in practicing self-love.

How has your style changed over the years?

I think style evolves but personal taste always remains the same. I have always been a fan of minimalistic and classic style and I think I still prefer that. However, I don’t mind experimenting as my work demands that.

In your opinion what is your most troublesome area?

None; I believe imperfections are beautiful.

How do you dress according to your body type?

I always go with whatever fits my personality the best and of course, how comfortable I feel in that particular piece. One can carry anything and everything if they wear it with confidence.

Which colours in your opinion look best on you?

Mostly white, but again I’m not choosy with colours or cuts.

What is your least favourite fashion trend?

I don’t know if I should say this but I just don’t appreciate gharara pants. I do like the traditional gharara, the fusion of pants and gharara on the other hand- not so much.

What item in your closet do you wear the most?

My gym wear. The most comfortable pieces of clothing
I own.

What is the one piece of clothing that you would never wear?

Nothing in particular but anything I’m not comfortable in. I believe if you’re uncomfortable in an outfit, it clearly shows.

If you could raid anyone’s closet, who’s would it be?

Oh so many! Gigi Hadid for sure, especially for her amazing street style looks, then of course Blake Lively and Victoria Beckham.

In your opinion what is the biggest mistake a person can make while dressing up?

I think going over the top- over accessorising and being overdressed.

Which silhouettes suit your body the most?

Suits for sure; there’s nothing as powerful as a well-tailored suit on a woman.

What’s one style every woman should try at least once in her life?

A white shalwar kameez paired with a coloured duppata. One can never go wrong with this. It is a definite wardrobe staple. I belong to Hydrabad, Deccan so I’m always biased towards the traditional Hydrabadi khara duppata!
