A drastic cut in defence spending is the only way to pull the country out of the current crisis, former PAF chief and veteran politician Air Marshal (retd) Asghar Khan said on Friday.
Asghar Khan also underscored the need for revisiting the country’s India-centric foreign policy. “An economy teetering on the brink of collapse simply cannot afford to spend Rs700 billion on defence, as has been announced in this year’s budget,” he argued. “Pakistan’s most importance resource – its people – are left high and dry,” he said.
