
He was addressing the oath-taking ceremony of Agrarian Society of the Faculty of Agriculture on Friday.
He stressed upon students to develop a strong friendship with books as they make us good human beings. He added that the literary activities should be increased in the country.
Dr Randhawa said that the country has to prepare the manpower which has the capability to deal with challenges of the modern era and is able to compete with the rest of the world. "Pakistan was achieved after great sacrifices and now it is our duty to take the country on the path of development and prosperity."
In this modern era, only knowledge-based economies are flourishing, he said, adding that there was a dire need to focus on training of technicians and field assistants for a better tomorrow.
