Instagram has added a feature that lets you send voice messages through the direct message portal.

The feature now allows users to send audio messages to each other that can be up to one minute long. These messages can be sent either through a private or group chat.

You can use this feature by holding down the microphone button and releasing it once you want to send the message. You can slide your finger to the left and trash it if you wish to re-record.

The photosharing app is trying to keep up with the new trend of voice messages as its parent company, Facebook Messenger rolled out the same feature many years back. WhatsApp also allows users to send voice recordings without any time constraints.

Most users aren't really in favour of this new feature and instead insisted that the algorithm must be worked on. They took to Twitter to discuss the feature.
