Yousaf Baig Mirza appointed PM’s special assistant on media

He will perform his duties in honourary capacity

ISLAMABAD: Yousaf Baig Mirza, a prominent media personality has been appointed Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Media Affairs, according to an official notification issued on Tuesday.

He will perform his duties in honourary capacity with effect from December 7.

Mirza, with a vast experience in working for local and international media, has provided leadership for various private and state-run media houses at national level. He also played a key role in transforming Pakistan Television (PTV) in accordance with contemporary requirements.

Yousaf Baig Mirza has also served all renowned private TV channels at top positions and holds a prominent place in the local media industry.

Prime Minister Imran Khan has appointed Mirza, considering his leadership qualities and vast experience in public and private media.

With his addition, number of PM’s special assistants has reached eight. According to a revised list of federal cabinet on cabinet division’s website, the total strength stands at 42. There are 24 federal ministers, including Senator Azam Swati whose name is yet to be deleted on the website despite his resignation from the post of science and technology minister, six ministers of state and four advisers.
