
He expressed these views while addressing an annual conference held at the Punjab Institute of Neuro Sciences.
Pakistani national doctors living abroad also attended the conference and said they were proud to serve their own country to curb paralysis.
Dr Adnan Siddiquee and Radiologist Ansar Roy from the USA and Ansar Tariq, Husnain Haider Shah from Egypt shared their views and said there were more than one methods of treatment for paralysis and people should not be afraid of this disease anymore.
In his address, Dr Rasheed said awareness campaign at a wide scale should be launched about paralysis and its treatment. He appreciated the launch of stroke centre at Lahore General Hospital and said it was the one and only centre in the public sector in Pakistan while in the neighbouring country 35 such centres were operative.
He expressed his determination that such activities would be continued so that maximum number of young doctors could be equipped with the latest technology.
The participants of the conference also highlighted modern techniques for the treatment of paralysis and doctors expressed interest in the proceedings and appreciated the efforts of Dr Rasheed.
