QUETTA: Balochistan National Party-Mengal President MNA Akhtar Jan Mengal has vowed to continue raising the issue of missing persons at national and international levels until they are recovered.

“We contested elections to raise the issue of missing persons,” said

Mengal while addressing a by-election rally in Turbat on Tuesday. By-elections are being held on PB-47. Central leaders of BNP Mengal were present.

BNP-M slams CM for neglecting missing persons’ plight

Slamming the previous government for remaining silent over the human rights violation, Mengal said, “BNP-M has been striving to bring back the loved ones of Baloch mothers and sisters knocking on various doors for the safe recovery of their husbands, sons and brothers.”

Referring to the previous government, Mengal said, “Our predecessors in the provincial and national assemblies didn’t even discuss the missing persons’ issue and today they are labelling us as PTI’s darling.

“Despite intervention by hidden powers, BNP-M emerged as the leading political force during the general elections that shows that the public believes in us.”

Provincial govt won’t last more than five months: Mengal

Taking a jab at the ruling Balochistan Awami Party provincial government, Mengal said, “The people of Balochistan are unable to understand as to how a new political experiment was conducted in Balochistan in the face of BAP and astonishingly they emerged as a majority political party.

“Cows and donkeys will eat the resources of Balochistan; therefore, public should vote for BNP-M, which is a solid defender of Balochistan and its natural resources.”

Citing slogans and promises of other political parties during election campaigns in July, Mengal said, “People witnessed that majority parties pledged development, infrastructure, hospitals and schools but the BNP-M was the only party which raised the issue of missing persons in election rallies.”
