QUETTA: Federal Minister for Defence Production Zubaida Jalal has said plans are being finalised under the public-private partnership to eradicate unemployment in Balochistan.
“Twenty thousand new jobs will be awarded in the coming months,” said the federal minister while addressing a by-election rally in Turbat on Tuesday.
Provincial Minister for Information and Higher Education Zahoor Buledi and other leaders of the Balochistan Awami Party were present.

“Work on Gwadar Shipyard will start soon and upon completion will provide a large number of job opportunities to the people of Makran,” said Jalal, adding that a sub-campus of Institute of Space Technology would be established in Makran to impart high-tech education.
She further said land ownership of Gwadar Shipyard had been given to the Balochistan government, which would result in economic growth of the province. “Technical centres in Gwadar, Kech and Turbat will be made functional in order to yield manpower for the Gwadar Shipyard,” she added. “Women Polytechnic Institute and Gwadar Institute of Technology will also be established.”
On the recent water crisis in Pasni and Gwadar, the minister said, “Due to the earnest efforts of the federal and provincial governments, water issues in Gwadar, Pasni and adjacent areas are being resolved on a priority basis. Further initiatives are being taken to end water crisis in Makran Division.”

She said, “BAP’s leadership has been utilising all available resources on provincial and federal levels to provide relief to the people of Balochistan as in a short period of time infrastructure development is evident in the province with the ongoing construction of many highways.”
She further said a mechanism was being prepared to revamp Wapda.
She urged the people of Kech to come out of their homes on December 6 to vote for their candidate “as the province cannot bare further hatred and divisions on ethnic level”.
Addressing the rally, Minister Buledi said, “BAP has taken charge of the province with a major vision of provincial development.”
He claimed that the incumbent government had gained public trust by addressing the concerns of the people.
