Why Ranbir, Alia didn't attend #DeepVeer reception

Various Bollywood bigwigs were spotted at the newly-weds event held in Mumbai on Saturday

Bollywood's power couple Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh recently tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Lake Como, Italy. While none of the industry bigwigs were invited to the ceremonies, the duo did hold a reception on Saturday in Mumbai, for the Bollywood celebrities.

The likes of Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Varun Dhawan, Katrina Kaif, Arjun Kapoor and many others attended the event. However, Deepika's ex Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer's Gully Boy co-star Alia Bhatt - who are dating - were not present at the reception as everyone awaited their arrival.

According to Pinkvilla, both Ranbir and Alia along with film-maker Ayan Mukerji were busy shooting their film, Brahmastra. The trio had pulled off a 20-hour shift which is why they couldn't make it for the bash, putting all speculations to rest.

The girls, who appeared together on the first episode of Koffee with Karan's sixth season revealed that there was no bad blood between them. They added that they have left the past behind and do not let it affect their friendships with each other. Around the same time, Ranveer, Deepika, Alia and Ranbir were also spotted hanging out together at Karan Johar's residence along with Shah Rukh and Aamir Khan.
