Stolen Bike: ‘Maybe the robbers will give it back’

LAHORE:

A young man who was robbed of his motorbike on Thursday but when he tried to lodge a case with the police, he was advised to wait until the robbers returned the bike. Millat Park police eventually registered an FIR, but only after a senior official was informed of the situation.

Imran Saleem, a Millat Park resident, told the police that two men had taken his motorbike, registration book and mobile phone at gunpoint in broad daylight and then drove away, leaving behind their motorcycle. The police confiscated the bike.

Saleem moved an application, but the police told him to wait a few days and maybe his motorbike would reappear. “The police said that the robbers left this other bike, so maybe they would leave mine somewhere too,” he said. Asked about the case, officials at the police station made contradictory statements. A case was eventually registered, nine hours after the robbery, on the say so of an SP.
