Wedding season is here and with the countless events we all will be attending in the next few weeks, we have to make sure the tiredness doesn't peek through. The festivities seem to go on forever and while it's important for us ladies to keep our makeup looking fresh, it can be harder than it seems sometimes. Compiled from Bustle, here is a list of five tips to keep your makeup intact.

1. Skincare is a must

Always start with moisturiser. You want your skin to be hydrated enough so it doesn't overproduce oil or eat away your foundation out of desperation if its too dry.

Make sure to use only a dime size amount and pat the product onto the skin using the finger tips. This will help it absorb quickly and prevent you from using too much because if you put on more than necessary, your makeup won't stick.

2. Primer is your best friend

Primers always help in improving the longevity of your foundation. Some even help make it water-resistant, which comes in handy during the festive season.

Use about a pea size amount, and smooth it in starting from the area your makeup is more likely to move. Not only do primers make your makeup last longer, but they also blur out the texture of your skin. So, bye bye pores!

3. Choose the right base

Pick out the correct foundation based on your skin type and the weather. In winter, opt for a hydrating base so that it doesn't dry out your face and look patchy. When you find the perfect match, your foundation will look flawlessfrom start to finish, and will last all night long.

4. Master the art of layering

Setting creams with a layer of powder will vastly improve the longevity of your product wear. This tends to be the step most people skip, but at the end of the day, it's one of the most important parts of your makeup application.

Once you combine the liquid and powder together, it hardens and stays in place, just like concrete. If you have oily skin, opt for a loose setting powder with a natural or matte finish. If you're dry, go for one that reflects light and has a more dewy finish.

5. Don't forget to set

Setting spray is key for any makeup look as it will lock and merge all the layers of your makeup together. It will also ensure that everything sticks together for the whole day.

If you want to be extra locked-and-loaded from the inside out, spray your setting spray before you even apply your foundation. The tacky nature of the formula will grip to your foundation like anything.
