Senator Fida says government will build hospital in Bajaur

PESHAWAR: Convener of subcommittee of the Functional Committee for Less Developed Areas Senator Fida Muhammad Khan on Thursday said that provision of quality education and health in tribal districts was top priority of the government.

Talking to media after chairing a meeting of subcommittee at office of Malakand Deputy Commissioner, he said government was committed to bring reforms in education and health sector and for the purpose independent monitoring unit would be setup so that people could take benefit from these institutions at large.

Senator Ayub Afridi, Senator Hadayatullah, MNAs Guldad Khan and Gul Zafar, deputy commissioners of Malakand and Bajaur and officers of education department, Wapda, water supply, irrigation, public health, forest, agriculture and mines, C&W and small dams were present in the meeting.

Senator Fida said the government will build a hospital in Bajaur so that people do not have to travel to other districts for healthcare.

He said that fast track development of hitherto neglected areas was included among the top priority of the government and added that senate committee members would visit every project completed in the previous tenure of the government.

He directed officials of the forest department to present viable suggestions for plantation of olive plants in Bajaur district. He also directed the departments concerned to submit their proposals about shortage of staff, funds and building to the committee at earliest.

He said government was committed to fully implement its welfare agenda.

Senator Fida expressed his dissatisfaction over performance of education and health department and directed officials to perform their duties with honesty and focus their energy on welfare of people.
