ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Economy Watch President Dr Murtaza Mughal on Wednesday said that the budget has offered nothing to women entrepreneurs. According to him, no step had been taken to improve the quality of life of women involved in micro or large businesses, saying that women in Pakistan were intentionally kept backward for systematic subordination. Mughal said that ministries for women development had confused the mandate which isn’t helping women entrepreneurs, adding that they had received many complaints about authorities failing to cooperate while establishing a separate chamber for women. Dr Shehla Javed Akram who runs largest pharmaceutical business in Punjab and serves as president of Central and North Punjab Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry said that women development ministries lack the authority to support women entrepreneurs.
