BHC expresses dissatisfaction over Bugti murder case

The Balochistan High Court expressed dissatisfaction over the investigations into the murder of Baloch nationalist leader Nawab Akbar Bugti.

It ordered the police to issue arrest warrants of accused President Pervez Musharraf through the Interpol.

A division bench of the High Court, headed by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Essa, observed that the government is not serious in solving the murder case of Nawab Bugti.

The observation was made during Tuesday's hearing of the case filed by slain leader's son Nawabzada Jamil Akbar Bugt.

He approached the court complaining that the police is not arresting the accused nominated in the FIR in spite of court orders.

The main accused nominated in the FIR are former President Pervez Musharraf and former Balochistan Governor Awais Ghani.

Adjourning the hearing of case till the 15th of June, the bench directed both the federal and provincial governments to file written statements regarding the progress in the investigation.

Waqas | 13 years ago | Reply How about initiating cases against Bugti for murder, kidnapping, extortion, corruption, maintaining a private militia, making war against the state, killing innocent civilians, sabotage and subversion against expensive infrastructure?? What did he do for his fellow Balochis other than make them cannon fodder and keeping them in poverty. Even today no schools, no hospitals etc are allowed in Bugti area.

We all know who instigated the murderer. The problem is that unlike civilised countries our generals - whether in or out of uniform - remain above the laws of Pakistan.
