Four-day Raiwind congregation ends today

On Saturday, CCPO BA Nasir visited Tableeghi Ijtama to review security arrangements

The four-day Raiwind Tableeghi Ijtima will conclude on Sunday (today). The City Traffic Police Lahore (CTPL) issued on Saturday the exit plan for traffic.

According to the plan, only one-way traffic from Raiwind Lahore Road, Raiwind Kot Radha Kishan Road, Raiwind Manga Road, and Raiwind Sundar will be allowed. The traffic flow will be allowed in the normal way after a decrease in congestion, said Chief Traffic Police Officer (CTO) Liaquat Ali Malik. He added that first of all, motorcycle and rickshaw stands will be vacated.

Explaining the best possible routes, Malik said that a commuter leaving from Riaiwnd City to Ferozpur Road should take the route from Sui Asal Road to Raiwind City. The commuters can also travel from Ferozpur Road to Chung Amar Sadhu via Rakh Chandrai, Gawala Colony, Halloki to reached Jodho Railway Crossing Raiwind.

He said that the commuters could also travel from Madar-e-Millat Road, Hidayat Pind Kacha Phatak via Halloki Road to reach Raiwnd City. The commuters can also travel from Shaukat Khanum via Qadar Topash Shano Baba, Lake City, Defence Road to Halloki Road. The participants can also travel from Thokar to Canal Road, Bahria Town, Sui Gas Housing Society-Phase-II and Sharif Medical Complex.

Malik said that Multan Road will remain opened for traffic. He directed all field officers not to allow parking of any vehicle at the end of the congregation. CTPL has deployed extra force and established traffic response units to facilitate public. He asked the citizens to call at 15 for traffic information. He requested citizens to avoid travelling to Raiwind City at the end of the congregation.

Meanwhile, Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) BA Nasir visited Tableeghi Ijtama congregation to review security arrangements. SP Sadar Ali Raza, SP City Traffic Asif Siddique, and ASP Raiwind Ayyaz escorted CCPO. He ordered police officials to remain on high alert while performing their duty and do not allow any irrelevant person to enter the gathering.

A comprehensive traffic plan has been evolved to ensure smooth traffic flow, he said, adding that a police desk has been set up to facilitate people. The CCPO said that 12 DSPs, 36 SHOs, 306 upper subordinates and 3,000 policemen under the supervision of three SPs have been deployed to ensure foolproof security. The policemen were performing their duties in three shifts, he said and added that search operations have also been conducted in adjoining areas of congregation. No one would be allowed to park their vehicles without parking stands, he added. SP Sadar Ali Raza, SP City Traffic Asif Siddique, and ASP Raiwind Ayaz were also present.
