A jewellery design graduate from PIFD, Sana Nisar has an eye for unique and creative designs. Having started her brand Tsafira a little over a year ago, she has quickly managed to make a name for herself in the market. The accomplished designer shares with us some interesting details about the exquisite jewellery inside her vault!

How and when did you become interested in jewellery?

My interest in jewellery has existed long since childhood. I come from a place which is famous for having some of the world’s finest emeralds. Naturally, these gemstones intrigued me and I’d always be on the hunt to find out more about them. And so with time my interest started to develop and eventually I graduated with a degree in jewellery design.

What are your favourite pieces of jewellery?

I love all the pieces in my collection because each piece is carefully curated and designed by me. But if I had to choose, then the galaxy ear studs would definitely be a favourite! They’re so unique and edgy, you can carry them with absolutely any attire and they’d still look great!

Share a story with us about how you acquired one of your favourite pieces.

It’s a pendant which has a raw uncut stone set in it that I purchased from a vendor in Swat. He told me a long story about how he had acquired it from Afghanistan. I still wonder if all of that was true!

Is there any piece you are emotionally attached to?

Yes, a set of family earrings that I got from my mother. Every time I wear them, they remind  me of her.

Is there anything on your radar that you want to introduce in the future?

Maybe an antique collection as I’m obsessed with history. I love antique stones and I have a huge collection at home that I haven’t utilised anywhere.
