QUETTA: A court in Quetta on Wednesday sentenced to death a police constable accused of raping a little girl and other children.

District and Sessions court judge Mubeen Ali announced that sentenced Sepoy Tayab Raza Kazmi will be delivered the death penalty on two counts of rape.

Kazmi, a resident of police lines was apprehended in 2015 after raping a little female child of a police officer who used to serve in the same jurisdiction. Pictures received from his laptop showed clearly the accused raping the girl.

During the course of investigation and inspection of the Kazmi's cell phone and laptop, police discovered that he was involved in raping and taking pictures of other children too, who identified the accused as the culprit.

Last week, Rawalpindi police arrested four people suspected to abduct a number of young children and then demand ransom from their parents.

The suspects were produced before an anti-terror court, which granted police their physical remand for five days.
