QUETTA: The acid attack victims of Quetta’s Railway Housing Society were on Monday given a Rs300,000 worth of compensation by the Government of Balochistan.

Provincial Minister for Health Naseebullah Mari, Home Minister Muhammad Saleem Khosa and MPA Bushra Rind visited the Bolan Medical Complex (BMC) Hospital and presented the compensation money to the two victims on the behalf of the Balochistan chief minister.

BMC Medical Superintendent Dr Fahim Khan and Burns Unit doctors briefed the provincial ministers about the medical facilities being provided to the acid attack victims.

Acid attack leaves woman and daughter severely injured

On Sunday, a woman and her daughter suffered burn injuries after two unidentified men riding motorcycle threw acid on them and fled.

Marri had directed the BMC administration to provide quality treatment to the acid victims, adding that the provincial government would bear treatment expenditures for the two victims.

The police had lodged an FIR against unidentified persons and started investigations.
