In an interesting development, a female patrolling officer issued an over-speeding ticket to a top government official with the cop later being rewarded for her act to uphold the law, reported Express News.

The constable, Uzma Shehzadi, penalised ruling party's member Raja Riaz for Rs750 after his car was spotted being driven 132 kilometres per hour on the motorway, near Pindi Bhattian.

According to Riaz, it wasn't him but his driver behind the wheel of the speedy car, saying he had paid his fine as per the law.

Meanwhile, the inspector general police of the motorway rewarded the courageous officer with Rs5,000 cash and a certificate commending her bravery.

Saudi consulate vehicle sans number plate fined by sub-inspector

Recently, a traffic police official fined a Saudi consulate vehicle in Karachi’s red zone after it was found driving without a registration number plate.

According to the sub-inspector, the Saudi consulate vehicle was stopped and questioned about the non-existent number plate. The driver produced number plates from inside the vehicle, saying that the only reason of the car lacking them was security risks.

As the two got engaged in a conversation, a man on the passenger seat asked the official to talk to an influential person over the phone, apparently in an attempt to pressurise him to let the vehicle leave.

However, the sub-inspector fined the vehicle with Rs520 for violating the traffic law, and only allowed it to leave once the penalty was paid.

In the world where law is enforced in letter and spirit it is a norm for a police officer to fine the law breaker irrespective of his position or designation. "Because everyone is equal in the eyes of law and no one is above the law...."
