Lights out: Drive against power pilferers launched

RPO Dogar said that an all out cooperation will be extended in order to take action against electricity thieves

FAISALABAD: A vigorous drive against electricity theft was launched in the division on Saturday. A meeting was held to devise a coordinated strategy to make the campaign a success.

RPO Ghulam Mehmud Dogar, Deputy Commissioner Syed Ahmed Fawad and FESCO CEO Mujahid Islam Billah and other officials discussed matters relating to the operation against power theft.

RPO Ghulam Mehmud Dogar said that an all out cooperation will be extended in order to take action against electricity thieves while police officials will be provided to raiding parties to avoid any resistance from the accused.

Deputy Commissioner Syed Ahmed Fawad said that the district enforcement committee was working with full commitment and dedication to initiate measures against incidences of power theft while all processes were also being supervised to root out electricity theft. He added that a special cell had also been set up at the commissioner’s officer to receive tip offs about power theft.

FESCO CEO Mujahid Islam Billah gave details about the intelligence network. He said that dubious industrial, domestic and commercial connections were being checked and proper surveillance was also being carried out to oversee electricity theft in the division.
