Doctor, constable arrested in Haripur

Police squads are conducting raids to apprehend five other suspects involved in the incident

HARIPUR / PESHAWAR: Police in Haripur have arrested a hospital official and a police constable for allegedly stripping a man, beating him up and filming the entire incident. Police squads are conducting raids to apprehend five other suspects involved in the incident.

Earlier this year, doctors and officials at the Haripur hospital had caught a man red-handed who was allegedly harassing women in the hospital.

The culprit, Ishtiaq Ahmed, was then stripped and beaten up and the entire incident was recorded on video before he was handed over to the Haripur police.

The hospital even lodged a formal complaint against him with the police for committing obscene acts, criminal intimidation, of causing sexual harassment under sections 293, 294, 506 and 509 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
