An exhibition of 31 photographs taken by Argentine mountaineer, Tommy Heinrich, during his excursions in the northern areas of Pakistan was launched at the National College of Arts on Sunday.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Heinrich said he had been taking photographs in Pakistan since 2007. He said the ones displayed at the NCA were taken in the Karakoram Range, Baltistan, Taxila, Skardu and Chitral Valley.
The photographs have been appearing in the National Geographic magazine, said Argentine Ambassador Rodolfo J Martin Sarvia. He said Argentina had great respect for Pakistani artists. He said several exhibitions of Shakir Ali’s work had been very popular in Argentina.
Earlier, a memorandum of understanding was signed between NCA principal, Fauzia Qureshi, and Ferozsons and BF Biosciences chief operating officer, Usman Waheed.
Waheed gave a Rs1 million grant to the college for promotion of arts.
