FAISALABAD:

The son of a police official allegedly sexually assaulted a girl in Faisalabad, Express News reported.

An official of Gulberg police said that H*, a resident of Qaim Pura, submitted a complaint at the police station.  The girl stated that she had struck up a friendship with Muneeb Masood on social media. She added that the suspect told her that his father was a DSP in Punjab police and a British national.

H* stated that after two months of friendship, Muneeb asked her to marry him. The victim told the police that she trusted the culprit and collected cash and jewellery from her house and went with him. She said the accused took her to a house where he gave her food.

The girl maintained that after consuming the food, she fell unconscious and the accused allegedly sexually assaulted her. H* revealed that Muneeb also recorded the ordeal in a video.

She said that a friend of the accused, Shafique, and a police official’s wife were his accomplices.  The police have registered a case against the suspects and conducted raids to arrest them.

Meanwhile, the victim’s lawyer had informed police authorities that the culprit and his father were threatening the girl of dire consequences. He said that they were pressurising H* to make a deal and dispose of the case.

Earlier, a woman was allegedly sexually assaulted in Diji Kot police limits.

The police said that victim’s brother SA*, a resident of Chak No 249-RB, submitted a complaint. He stated that his sister, S*, was alone in the house when Ahmed, Naveed and Farhat barged in and raped her at gunpoint. He added when the victim raised a hue and cry, the culprits left the victim in a semi-naked state and fled the scene.
